Technasium is a national network of high schools in the Netherlands dedicated to encouraging students to choose science and technology oriented further education. Therefore technasium wants to increase the awareness of scientific and technological professions among high school students. The core of ‘Technasium’ is to have students involved in real-life problems of a company or organisation. Therefore throughout their secondary school career Research & Design students, supported by field experts and coached by teachers, work on authentic tasks originating from companies. The final assignment “meesterproef’ also involves Polytechnic or University experts.
As an exhibitor of ISCC’18 you can submit a case (a real-life problem). A group of Research & Design students will be connected to the case of your company to look at it with a fresh angle and find innovating solutions to the problem.
After ten years of existence the secondary school course named Research& Design, is broadly accepted and recognised in the Dutch business world. Companies of all sizes are connected to secondary schools and support learning engineering through research and design. These companies are not necessarily involved in engineering but do need engineering support. Most of the companies appreciate unforeseen innovations suggested by students, “a fresh angle”, and gladly invest their time in possible future employees.
